Corporate Background

CORPORATE BACKGROUND

	Yatanarpon Teleport was established in September , 2002 in order to fulfill the growing demand for data communication services for the country's business and in particular the finical sector and the emerging IT industry. As a result of increasing demand for Yatanarpon Teleport's services, Yatanarpon Teleport set out on an ambitions plan to build a nationwide data-communications network to fulfill the demands of the market.
	This plan commenced in April 2001, with the building of a Teleport and Internet Data Center. Completed in December that year the Teleport is designed to be the hub for all Myanmar's data communication requirements for the near future. At the same time, Yatanarpon Teleport launched the country's first commercial VSAT network. As a result, all the major private banks are using VSAT's for data and voice connectivity across the whole country. The success of this network has encouraged IT companies, educational institutions, health authorities and other smaller companies to adopt this technology. The VSAT network has expanded to comprise some 300 remote sites throughout the Union of Myanmar.
	Yatanarpon Teleport also utilizes Fibred-Optic technology for the provision of a range of communication services to the Myanmar Info-Tech, adjacent to the Teleport. The efficient delivery of Internet services to the fledging Software companies will help these companies find their niche in the Global market place.
	Soon after implementation of VSAT project, Yatanarpon Teleport diversified its businesses by introducing e-mail and Internet access services to the general public in March 2002 using Dial-up connections. Subsequently, a Broadband Wireless Network has also been introduced in both Yangon and Mandalay, Providing high-speed Internet access as well as voice services using VoIP technology, another first for Myanmar. Broadband Wireless services is also planned to be introduced in other major urban areas around the country.
	Yatanarpon Teleport has also expanded broadband availability to cover the whole country with the introduction of iPSTAR a state-of-the-art based broadband delivery system.
	With Internet access becoming a reality throughout the Union of Myanmar, the development of locally designed web content and e-commerce applications is expected to flourish. Yatanarpon Teleport is positioned to take full advantage and value-added opportunity through Myanmar's first commercial Internet Data Centre for web-hosting. co-location and value-added overseas.
	Yatanarpon Teleport is also taking the lead in the development of on-line content with the roll-out of the Website and Planet Myanmar Portals providing information and entertainments tailored to its subscribes as well as Myanmar's living overseas.
	Yatanarpon Teleport is committed to developing these and other newly emerging technologies in this rapidly evolving arena. Whatever the requirement, Yatanarpon Teleport is positioned to provide a complete communications solution for companies and the population at large.
